Caravan has made a quick mark on Beijing's live music map since inheriting 2 Kolegas' sound system, hosting a diverse card of globetrotting roots players passing through the city. "Next to 'dazeFeast this has got to be the biggest coup I've pulled" says Caravan's proprietor and longstanding Beijing rock scene pundit Badr Benjelloun of his latest booking. Kateb is the founder of roots/reggae/gnawa group Gnawa Diffusion, somewhat of an ambassador for the distinct Algerian style.
300rmb (pre-sale) gets you a welcome drink, full dinner spread, and seats to Amazigh Kateb's performance, which will be followed by a jam session with Beijing-based world music troubadours. Attendance is strictly capped at 30 heads — RSVP here to save your place. 350rmb for walk-ups if there's still space available on the night.
If you miss the boat on that one, Amazigh Kateb will be giving a more club-oriented performance the following Wednesday, October 14 at DDC.
